Eternal youth, flawless beauty, perfect proportions – the possibilities for realizing these ideals and defying aging seem limitless. We don't just want to be beautiful, but also successful and high-performing. What was once reserved for Hollywood stars and millionaires is now theoretically attainable for everyone. In 2024, there were a total of 1,303,528 surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures in Germany. Compared to 2020, the number increased by 12.6 percent. New procedures and technologies for beauty treatments are flooding the market. Whether it's a Brazilian butt lift, a back lift, or leg lengthening, optimization and surgery are being performed like never before. Cosmetic procedures and on-the-go beauty as a cure-all against aging? Tech billionaires are investing enormous sums in longevity research. High-tech in the fight against the ravages of time. Will the dream of eternal youth soon become reality? But with the possibilities comes increased pressure. Those who age and lose performance seem to be to blame themselves. Social media has an ever-greater influence on the self-image of young people. The constant comparison with the flawless images from the world of Instagram and TikTok is radically changing our understanding of beauty. But new trend studies also show that customers are placing increasing value on natural beauty results – eternal youth, seemingly without any external intervention. The VOX documentary accompanies people on their personal beauty mission and their path to self-optimization. Viewers witness highs and lows, victories and defeats. The documentary examines current beauty trends – from innovative to borderline. Our protagonists undergo new treatments and beauty cures, even painful leg lengthening procedures. They document their progress and setbacks in video diaries. Their motivations are as diverse as the methods they hope will bring them success. While some use cosmetic procedures to adapt their bodies to their own beauty ideals, others want to lower their biological age, increase their performance, or hope for more self-confidence through a changed appearance. We accompany six people on their journey to their goal: the pursuit of eternal youth and a perfect body. Manuela is fighting against the ravages of time. At Germany's first longevity clinic, she has her blood analyzed to determine her biological age. The "reverse aging" procedure is then supposed to activate rejuvenation processes and reverse the biological aging process of her skin. Sukkha swears by the primal allure of cold and climbs Slovenia's highest mountain half-naked with his son. Didi focuses on power and weightlifting: The mother of four wants maximum muscle mass and to participate in a championship one more time. Leon wants to be taller. He's willing to endure a lot of pain to achieve this. Will he reach his dream height of 1.90 meters with the help of leg lengthening surgery? Reality star and influencer Natalia is experiencing the consequences of a botched operation. She no longer feels comfortable in her body and wants to have a corrective procedure. Mia is struggling with the indirect effects of gastric bypass surgery. After the weight loss, she's battling excess skin. Now she wants to have her back tightened. The two cosmetic surgeons, Dr. Rick and Dr. Nick, are arguably the most prominent faces in the German "beauty to go" scene. They believe their best advertisement is themselves!
