Goodbye Germany! The Emigrants - Sweden: The Käseberg Family
"Sweden and back?" Oli Käseberg (44), his wife Sarah (36), and daughter Jeanne (11) are emigrating to Sweden to finally escape the lack of prospects in Germany. Neither Oli nor Sarah sees any chance of getting their careers off the ground in Germany. Six years ago, Oli lost his left index finger in a workplace accident and became unemployed shortly afterward. Since then, Sarah has been supporting the family with a part-time job earning 450 euros a month. However, the couple now sees their opportunity in Sweden, as Sarah's brother organizes adventure holidays for tourists in the province of Dalarna.
He promptly offers his sister a job. But when the family arrives in Sweden with all their belongings, this offer is suddenly no longer being offered. The emigration threatens to fail before it has even begun. What will become of the family who gave up everything in Germany to find happiness in Sweden? Will the three of them be forced to return to Germany after only eight weeks?
